A pair of Victorian elm spindle-back kitchen chairs.
Very comfortable and full of country character.
It looks like they have been painted in the past then stripped, judging by some small spots of remaining paint and underneath one seat.
They've now taken on a lovely deep patina.

Excellent, very solid, no wobbles or repairs, no cut-down legs, so a good height for a kitchen table.
Wear and tear as expected for age.
Old paint under one seat, some darker shadow-like patches to seats from where old paint removed or sanded, which actually adds to the patina - see photos.
