Due to some of the design elements - e.g. the rolled-out rim of the shade, the rounded-edged back of the shade, the metal cross bolts and hinges, etc., - this design classic is accurately dated to between 1948 and 1960, and probably the earlier end of that date range.
The lamp has been lovingly restored and rewired with parts from Anglepoise themselves - new bulb holder, grommets, switch, vintage-style cable and plug.
The original black paint is in good order, with just the expected marks of wear and tear - zoom in on photos for details. The original felt is still in place underneath but has some losses.
Works perfectly and has been professionally PAT tested March 2022.
