Early 1800s, or earlier, mostly elm, Georgian open armchair or carver with lift-out rush seat.
Generously proportioned, wonderfully-shaped arms, with a well-figured grain, good colour and patina.
Excellent condition, just the expected age-related wear and tear. Sturdy joints, no movement. Seat has lost a couple of lengths of rush but still good and useable, although probably best to use a cushion for protection. Probably later (but still old) blocks to support seat.
