A pair of very sweet 18th or early 19th-century low spindle-back chairs.
One is marked 'MAY TRURO', so I'm guessing made in Cornwall.
This chair also has what looks like peg joints.
Both have great patina and shape.
They come with a receipt dated what looks like 1987 calling them '...stick back country chairs 18th cent.'
The legs are possibly later than the seat and back (but still old), and possibly cut down to make lower, but still appropriate for the style.
Both chairs are very solid and sturdy, with no wobbles, etc.
There are very old long gone woodworm holes on both seats but I've treated them anyway.
Perfect for any room as decorative items or practical.
Bedside tables, lamp or flower tables, fireside chairs, display cuddly toys. Made even better by the fact they're a near pair of course!
