A real mid-century modern design classic, the Tizio table lamp was designed by German Richard Sapper for Italian company Artemide. It can be seen in The Museum of Modern Art and has won several design awards, becoming an icon in the 1980s of high-tech, desirable design.
This example is one of the earliest and features a halogen bulb (like those used in cars), a switch with two different light intensities, it swivels smoothly and can be set in any position, and has no wires, as, thanks to the transformer in the base, the electricity is passed safely through the arms.
Excellent condition, just some light corrosion to chrome arm supports adding to the character - see photos.
